Choosing the Golf Club for Women

Depending on the playing style of the women golfer. It can also be figure of speech, where women can use men’s golf clubs, but in a different way. It all depends on the level of play of the female golfer. So let’s take a step back and go from the very beginning.

First, choosing the golf clubs. A golf club set consists of four main types. You have your woods for driving the ball at great distance, you have your irons for high arching shots, you have your chippers to get the ball inside the green, and you have your putters for rolling the ball into the hole. Variations include wedges, which are irons that allow for higher arching shots. Even the chippers are high-arching variations of putters.

If you are a beginner, it is best that you should make it a point to choose the clubs personally at a local store where you can try a few air swings. With no prior knowledge of golf clubs, or if you have never held one in your hand before, do not attempt to buy anything online.

You have to make sure that the length of the club is just right for you. The weight of the club is a distant second in terms of what you need to pay attention to. As you go further into the game, you’ll find out for yourself if you need to shift to a heavier or lighter club. Women typically use lighter clubs – especially beginners – but it is up to you, really.

The golf swing technique can favor either accuracy or power. Depending on the club that you use, you can lean towards augmenting either aspect. Heavier clubs can produce power on their own while you focus on being accurate. Lighter clubs can be accurate if you like to put more force on your swing.

Women usually favor lighter clubs due to them being more naturally accurate. Lighter clubs allow them to drive more force while maintaining control of the downswing. They can use woods in place of irons for long range shots, for instance.
